Ray was born to Leo and Eileen Rogers, where they raised him in the Milwaukie area. After graduating High School, Ray served his country by joining the US Air Force. Following his service, he worked for Globe Union /Johnson Controls for 34 years, performing almost every role and retiring as a floor supervisor.
He enjoyed many activities including mountain climbing, finishing, hunting, target shooting, camping, traveling, and scenic drives. He would often climb Mt. Hood after a long day of work or fast enough to be home in time for dinner.
Ray passed away after fighting congestive heart failure along with battling cancer.
He was married to Doloris Rogers for 54 years until her death in 2016.
He is survived by his daughters Doris Allphin and Sandra Hargitt, his grand children, Kristina Hargitt, Michael Hargitt, Kristina Ash, and great grandson Colton Applegate. As well as his sister Marleen Jones, sister in law Doris Herring and many nieces, nephews.
He will be missed by his many lifelong friends. He also cherished his special friendships he made over the past year. Ray was always the friend that would drop whatever he was doing to be there for others.
A celebration of his life is planned for Saturday April 14th 2018 at the Oregon City Evangelical Church at 10:00. Donations can be made to the providence hospice care.
