Seth Joseph CusickJuly 23, 1974 ~ October 9, 2017 (age 43)
Seth Joseph Cusick was born on July 23, 1974 to parents Joseph and Rachael Cusick. He grew up in West Linn, Oregon along with his brother Nathan and attended West Hills Christian Grade School and graduated from Westside Christian High School. He accepted the Lord at an early age and had a very personal relationship with Jesus Christ his Lord and Savior. Seth was always very concerned about others and at one point considered becoming a counselor. While in college, it was necessary for hm to take a class called “Death and Dieing” In that class he had to write his own obituary. In that obituary he said that he (Seth) had been known as a lover of children and animals. That was surely true of Seth Cusick. Seth graduated from Portland State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology.
Seth was a world traveler from his early adult years. He had traveled to many countries including most of Europe, India, and Asia. He especially loved the country of Thailand. He had been to Thailand at least 2 times but this last February was overjoyed to share a trip to Thailand for 1 month with his oldest nephew Trace. He already had purchased his ticket for a trip to Viet Nam which he was planning on traveling to this coming Spring. His greatest aspiration was to introduce his son, Tanner to this kind of travel. Seth often traveled without any definite itinerary, just a rough idea of where he would be going and a backpack. However, he would obtain books on the countries he would going to, thoroughly read them over and over, and learn all he could about his destinations.
Seth met his future wife, Kim DeJong, for the first time face to face on October 16, 2012. Seth and Kim were married on April 1, 2014.
Above all, Seth loved his son Tanner. He wanted and was involved in every area of Tanner's life. He delighted in spending special time with Tanner, being one of the assistant coaches of his son's football team, playing tennis, riding bikes, volunteering at Tanner's school, going to church, and just about anything that the two of them did together.
Seth successfully operated an online store for over 15 years. Although the hours were often long and sometimes stressful, he loved the people that he came to know because of it, and valued the flexibility that it gave him to arrange his schedule around his relationship with his son, Tanner. He also worked part time for his father's painting company, Skyline Painting. He was an unbelievable help to his father, Joseph, and Joseph often said there was no one he would rather have painting with him than his son. Not only because of the skill that Seth had, but the wonderful times that they had together.
Seth is survived by his wife Kim, her daughters Logan and Ellis, his son Tanner Cusick, his parents Joseph and Rachael Cusick, his brother and his brother's wife, Nathan and Denise Cusick, his nephews, Trace, Chance, and Brock Cusick, grandparents, Harlan & Shirley Threlkel, Uncle Michael and Aunt Bernadette Galluchi, Uncle Bruce & Aunt Jean Robbins, and many other uncles, aunts, and cousins.
