Robert (Bob) Leroy Bos passed away at the age of 83 on December 16, 2017, with his wife, Patricia, by his side.
Bob was born in Iowa City, Iowa on September 16, 1934 to Peter and Gladys Bos. At the age of 11, Bob moved to Portland with his parents and 6 siblings (Pete, Don, Chuck, Jerry, Ruth and Margie).
Bob attended Sellwood Grade School and graduated from Benson High School. In 1954, Bob married Patricia Molstad and they had three sons: Randal (Deanna), Ronald (Laurie), and Scott (Kris).
Bob was a member of the National Guard until 1956. He worked as an assistant golf pro as a young man and then as an Iron Worker until retiring at age 62. He spent many years coaching Little League and Babe Ruth Baseball. Bob was an avid golfer and had been a member of the Eastmoreland Men’s Club. Bob greatly enjoyed retirement and spent a number of years as a “snowbird” in Lake Havasu, AZ. He and Pat enjoyed their vacations to Hawaii and traveling in their RV around the western United States.
He was an avid sports fan and loved his Trail Blazers and Oregon Ducks. Bob loved his family and was very proud of his sons and all of his grandchildren. Bob was devoted to his wife, Patricia, and took every opportunity to tell people how much he loved her.
Bob is survived by his wife of 63 years, Patricia; Sons: Randal and Scott; nine grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and “honorary son”, Jerry Smith. He was preceded in death by his son, Ronald Bos.
A memorial service will be at 1:00 p.m – 4:00 p.m. Saturday, January 13, 2018 at Eastmoreland Golf Course, 2425 SE Bybee Boulevard, Portland, OR
