Nancy (Shelley) Miller, passed away Thursday at the age of 75.
A 53 year resident of Lake Oswego, Shelley was born in Portland, a graduate of Wilson High School class of 1960. In her youth Shelley enjoyed riding horses with her cousin Ruth, taking part in events with the CAR/DAR and performing in the Junior Civic Theater. She attended OSU and studied architectural design and drafting at Oregon Polytechnic, later drafting for the engineering department of Pacific Bell Systems.
She married her husband, Wesley, in June of 1964. She enjoyed gardening, raising poultry, a variety of pets & creative projects. The births of her children added new excitement and challenges. She was an active parent volunteer at Oswego Playschool, Forest Hills Elementary & Lake Oswego High School.
Throughout her adult life Shelley fostered relationships with a great many waifs, strays and young lost souls. She loved and nurtured each to the best of her ability.
In retirement Shelley enjoyed supporting Portland’s creative communities; often attending, being involved in and fostering music, art & comedy events when not spending time with her grandson.
Shelley is survived by her husband, two children and grandson. She was proceeded by her parents and her cousin Ruth.
