Lois Elaine Cole

Lois was born August 31, 1933 to Clarence Layton Gorman and Bertha Elisabeth Smith Gorman in East Stroudsberg Pa.

While she was growing up her parents owned and operated a tavern and an ice cream and hamburger stand. She and her siblings worked summers at the stand.

She attended East Stroudsburg High and was a Majorette in the band.

She married William (Buzz) Sfakianos in 1951 and moved to Chester Pa. She worked several years for Koff"s Drug Store as a pharmacy delivery and worked the soda fountain.

She graduated from Bourbon Beauty School at the top of her class.She had her own successful Beauty shop specializing in color. She was also a representative for Roux Hair Color In New York City.

She and her first husband divorced in 1967.She moved to San Francisco, Calif to be near her brother Clarence. While there she worked in retail sales, the longest at Daylon Drug.She married Dennie E Cole in 1971 and was later widowed.

Before she retired she worked as a home health care giver.

She moved to Oregon in 1990 to be near her daughter Lennie.

Her hobbies included crocheting ( she made hundreds of afghans for friends and relatives and donated many to nursing homes and vets.)reading, watching TV,cooking(every Christmas she baked a huge amount of cookies. Her crescent cookies were the best)

She also loved music and dancing. She enjoyed time spent with family and friends and loved animals.

She was preceded in death by her parents,her brother Clarence Layton Gorman Jr,her sisters Lorraine Fellencer, Viva Heller Cross, her son-in-law Jerry Bockmore, Joan Lansdowne and both of her husbands.

She is survived by her son Steven Sfakianos of New York, NY,  daughter Lennie Bockmore of Portland,Or, brother-in-law Rev Eugene J Fellencer of Summerfield, Fl, sister-in-law Pauline S Morris of Newark, Del and several nieces and nephews.

She was very generous and talented and will be greatly missed.

She is safe at home with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
